Air Force Dropped By New Mexico

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force women's basketball dropped a 63-33 Mountain West contest to New Mexico Wednesday night at Clune Arena. Sophomore Dee Bennett tied a career-high with 13 points to lead the Falcons.
New Mexico (11-7, 4-3) jumped on Air Force early, building a 34-8 halftime lead. Jaisa Nunn led the Lobos with 12 points and added seven rebounds. Cherise Beynon scored 10 points to go with five assists.
After the slow start the Falcons fought back in the second half, scoring 18 points in the third quarter. Air Force tripled its first-half scoring total with 25 second-half points.
Bennett hit four field goals and got to the free throw line six times, making five. The wing added four rebounds and a blocked shot.
Freshman Rileymarie Clarke scored six points to go with three rebounds and two steals. Senior Taylor Parker had five points, five rebounds and a career-high five blocked shots. The Falcons had a season-high six blocked shots on the night.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Jan. 30, hosting San José State. Tip time, at Clune Arena, is 6 pm.
