Air Force Splits Second Night of WAC Main Event

SEATTLE, Wash. – Posting a 2-2 record, the Air Force boxing team split the final night of competition at the Washington Athletic Club's Main Event on Saturday, Jan. 30, in Seattle.
Juniors Johnny Wells and Pedro Barrientes claimed event titles for the Falcons, as Wells defeated UNLV's Rusla Nuriev by a 2-1 decision at 165 pounds and Barrientes claimed a unanimous victory over Miami's Rahsaan Guyon at 156 pounds.
Sophomore Osama Farqaleet dropped a split decision to Washington's Jomell Cortez at 125 pounds, while senior Gytenis Borusas lost a 2-1 bout to Coast Guard's Bobby Mey in the 185-pound bout.
The Falcons are off from competition until Friday, Feb. 26, when they kick off the annual Wing Open.
