UC Davis defeated Air Force, 5-2, Sunday in a non-conference men's tennis match at the Air Force Academy Indoor Tennis Courts.
Air Force opened the match by taking the doubles point. Lucas Fumagalli and Tadhg Collins beat Alex Adamson and Adam Levie, 6-1, at No. 1 while Andrew Parks and Isaac Perez defeated Jesse Ross and Eli Whittle, 6-4, at No. 3. Jack McCullers and Max Olson led Brett Bacarach and Bryce McKalni, 6-5, at No. 2 when the point was clinched.
The Aggies swept the first four completed singles matches to take the victory. James Wade beat Parks, 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1 while Brett Bacharach beat Fumagalli, 5-7, 7-6, 6-3 at No. 2. McKalnie beat McCullers, 6-4, 7-6 and Tommy Lane beat Perez at No. 4, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6. Jesse Ross beat Collins, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 5 singles. Luke Sanderson picked up Air Force's lone singles win with a 7-6, 2-6, 10-5 win at No. 6.
Air Force falls to 1-3 with the loss. The Falcons return to action with three matches next weekend. Air Force plays BYU in Denver on Friday, Feb. 5, at 5:30 p.m. and hosts Wichita State and Metro State on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m., respectively.
