
Golfers to compete in Paintbrush Invitational

THIS WEEK
The Air Force golf team will travel north up I-25 for the inaugural Paintbrush Invitational, hosted by the University of Denver. The 54-hole tournament will be held on Monday-Tuesday, Oct. 10-11, at the Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo.
ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT/COURSE
The Paintbrush Invitational in its first year, will be hosted at the Colorado Golf Club in Parker, Colo. The course opened in 2007. T&L Golf named it one of the world's top 10 new courses that year, and GOLF Magazine named it the top new private course of the year. The Colorado Golf Club hosted the 71st Senior PGA Championship in 2010 and hosted the top women's golfers from the U.S. and Europe in The Solheim Cup in 2013. The Championship Course is par 72 and will play at 7,330 yards.

The 14-team field includes Air Force, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Iowa, Loyola Marymount, New Mexico, Northern Colorado, Oklahoma State, Oral Roberts, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington State and Wyoming.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Air Force's fourth-place finish at the CSU Ram Masters is the team's best finish ever in that tournament. Air Force's sixth-place finish at the Mark Simpson is its best ever in that tournament. The 858 at the CSU Ram Masters is the 10th best 54-hole score in school history. Senior Sunwoo Choi leads the team with a 71.44 stroke average. Senior Brenden Bone is second with a 73.00. Bone tied for second at the CSU Ram Masters with a career best 207 (-3). Choi posted back-to-back top 10 finishes at the CSU Ram Masters and Mark Simpson/CU Invite. He shot a career-best round of 65 in the first round of the CSU Ram Masters, Sept. 19. That round is the lowest by any Falcon this season and tied as the second-best round in school history. His 209 (-7) at the Mark Simpson/CU Invite is a career best score and place (T4th). His 209 score ties as the 15th best in school history

Air Force will close out the fall portion of its schedule at the Price's Give'Em 5 Invitational, Oct. 29-30, in El Paso, Texas.
