Air Force has solid first day at Navy Invitational

Air Force had a solid first day at the Navy Invitational on Friday, Nov. 4, in Annapolis, Md. The Falcons posted a 3-1 mark in doubles play and went 4-4 in singles.

Senior Lucas Fumagalli and freshmen Mack Galvin, Matthew Ghering and David Mottice all posted combined 2-0 marks. Fumagalli defeated Michael Chen of Georgetown, 6-1, 7-5, in singles and combined with Max Olson to defeat Michael Chen and Jordan Portner of Georgetown, 8-7 (9-7) in doubles.

Galvin defeated Georgetown's Will Sharton, 6-4, 6-3 in singles while combining with Ghering to beat Luis Janko and Valentijn Van Erven of SJU, 8-1 in doubles. Ghering beat Seth McNair of Navy, 6-1, 7-6 in singles. Mottice defeated Luis Janko of St. Joseph's, 6-2, 6-1, in singles and teamed with Isaac Perez to beat James Heaney and Will Sharton of Georgetown, 8-4, in doubles.

Play continues tomorrow at the Brigade Sports Complex in Annapolis.
