Air Force plays pair of matches in Arizona

This week: Air Force travels to Arizona for a pair of matches. The Falcons take on Northern Arizona Saturday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. and Grand Canyon on Sunday, Feb. 28, at 10 a.m.
Last week: The Falcons were idle. Air Force swept a pair of matches the week prior. The Falcons beat Eastern Washington, 4-3, at home Feb. 11 and defeated Northern Colorado, 6-1, Feb. 15 in Greeley, Colo.
Parks wins MW honor: Air Force senior Andrew Parks was named Mountain West men's tennis player of the week for Feb. 17. Parks helped lead Air Force to a 2-0 week with a home victory against Eastern Washington (4-3) on February 11 and on a road win against Northern Colorado (6-1) on February 15. He went 2-0 in both singles and doubles play during the week, posting an undefeated record in the No. 2 singles position with straight-set wins over Eastern Washington's Victor Pereira (6-1, 6-3) and No. 115-ranked Eric Schuermans of Northern Colorado (6-4, 6-1). The victory over Schuermans was Parks' first-career win against a nationally ranked opponent. He partnered with Isaac Perez in the No. 3 doubles spot to knock off Eduardo Bringold and Luke Ness of Eastern Washington (6-0) and Northern Colorado's Connor Finnerty and Jacob Sheldon (6-2).

Head Coach Dan Oosterhous: Dan Oosterhous is in his seventh season as the men's tennis coach at the Air Force Academy after being named the program's 12th head coach October 1, 2009. Oosterhous, a 1993 graduate of the Academy, replaced legendary head coach Rich Gugat, who retired after 36 years at the helm of the men's tennis program.
Oosterhous, one of the best tennis players in program history, has a 68-81 career record. A native of Texarkana, Texas, Oosterhous is a 1993 graduate of the Air Force Academy. He is a senior pilot with over 3,100 hours in the C-5, C-21, T-38, and T-37. He has three children, Emma (18), Anna (16) and Andrew (14).
