Air Force Downed at Utah State

LOGAN, Utah - Air Force women's basketball lost to Utah State, 64-40, in a Mountain West contest Tuesday night at Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. Sophomore guard Cortney Porter led the Falcons with 17 points.
Funda Nakkasoglu led Utah State (13-15, 8-9 MW) with 20 points and Rachel Brewster added 14.
Air Force started strong, leading 15-14 after the first quarter. Utah State responded with a 19-7 advantage in the second quarter to lead 33-22 at halftime. The Aggies dominated inside, outscoring the Falcons 38-10 in the paint.
Porter, a native of nearby Ogden, Utah, hit three 3-point baskets and added two rebounds and two assists. She scored 10 consecutive points for the Falcons in the first quarter.
Sophomore Sarah Cantu added six points on a pair of 3-point baskets and freshman Cheyenne Wall added six as well. Senior Taylor Parker and junior Sarah Fotsch had six rebounds each.
Air Force returns to action Friday, March 4, hosting Colorado State. Tip time, at Clune Arena, is 7 pm.
