Air Force (7-2 overall, 2-0 SoCon) takes on the Detroit Mercy Titans (1-5 overall, 1-0 MAAC) for Military Appreciation Day, Saturday, March 26, at 1 p.m. ET in Detroit, Mich.
National Polls
Air Force broke into the national ranks at No. 20 in the Cascade/Maverik Media Poll and received votes in the USILA/NIKE Division I Men's Lacrosse Coaches Poll, on March 21.

The Streak
Air Force has won seven straight games and has improved to 7-2 overall this season. The streak marks the longest win streak in school history against Division I teams. A four-overtime win at Marist initated the Falcon win streak. Five of the seven wins have been by three goals or less and five of the them have come on the road.
Series vs. Detroit Mercy
Air Force and Detroit Mercy will meet for the third time in program history; Air Force leads the series 2-0. The Falcons won, 13-6, the first time the teams met in 2009, at Falcon Stadium. The last meeting between the teams was in March of 2015 at USAFA, the Falcons topped the Titans, 9-6.
Scouting the Titans
Detroit Mercy is 1-5 overall and 1-0 in the Metro Atlantic Conference on the season. The Titans have played three top-20 opponents, inclduing No. 2 Notre Dame. The matchup with the Falcons will mark the fourth ranked opponent to play the Titans this season. The four matchups will mark the most ranked-matches in a single season for the Titan program. Detroit is 0-11 in program history against top 20 teams. The Titans earned their first win of the season in MAAC action against Manhattan on March 19.
Titan goalkeeper Jason Weber is second in conference for save percentage (0.550) and third in conference in saves per game (12.00). Weber also leads the MAAC in ground balls per game (4.33). Weber was awarded conference Defensive Player of the Week for his exceptional performance in the MAAC opener against Manhattan. Weber held the Jaspers to a program-record low, three goals in 57 minutes of action. It is the first time this season and the seventh time in his career that Weber has been dubbed Defensive Player of the Week.
Falcons in the Southern Conference
The Falcons are perfect in conference action; winning both SoCon matches by nine goals or more at home. Air Force topped Furman in the SoCon season opener, 14-4, March 12, at USAFA. On March 19, the Falcons followed with a 13-4 win at home over High Point for its second SoCon win. The SoCon is Air Force's third conference in the history of the program. Air Force was a member of the Great Western Lacrosse League (GWLL) from 1993-2009. From 2010-2014, Air Force was a member of the ECAC, winning the ECAC post-season tournament in 2014. Air Force was an independent in 2015.
SoCon Players of the Week
Senior Christopher Allen garnered his second consecutive offensive player of the week honor by tying his career high with four goals in a 13-4 home win over SoCon foe High Point, March 19. The senior midfielder from Hillsborough, N.J, scored his most important goal in the fourth quarter, helping stave off a 3-0 Panthers run. He has scored 11 goals and tallied 18 points in his last four games, including two goals in the upset against No. 11 Duke on March 22. Allen has logged two hat tricks this season and ranks second on the team in scoring with 17 goals and 21 points.
Air Force swept the Southern Conference lacrosse weekly awards for the second time this season on March 15. Walsch and Gouchoe nabbed the offensive and defensive honors respectively, on Feb. 23. Allen played a critical role in Air Force's 14-4 home win over Furman, netting four goals and added an assist in the victory for a total of five points, on March 12. It was the program's first-ever SoCon contest and Allen's first SoCon weekly honor. Gouchoe earned his third defensive player of the week honor of the season by limiting the Paladins to three goals in 51 minutes of action. The senior from Concord, Mass., stopped seven shots for a .700 save percentage.
Air Force has earned six Southern Conference weekly awards the last five weeks. Senior goalkeeper Doug Gouchoe has been named the Defensive Player of the Week three times (Feb. 23, March 1 and March 15). Allen was named the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week on March 15, while Chris Walsch earned the honor on Feb. 23.

Chris Walsch took a feed from Nick Hruby and scored the game-winner with 10 seconds left in overtime to lift No. 20 Air Force to a 10-9 win over No. 11 Duke in a non-conference game Tuesday, March 22, in Durham, N.C. The win was Air Force's first over the Blue Devils since 1975.
