Air Force With 7-2 Setback at UNLV

Air Force baseball dropped a 7-2 ballgame at UNLV in Mountain West action Saturday afternoon at Earl E. Wilson Stadium. The loss dropped the Falcons to 18-12, 8-6 MW.
UNLV jumped ahead 7-0, highlighted by a five-run seventh inning. The Falcons plated runs in the eighth and ninth innings.
The Falcons had four hits in the game. Adam Groesbeck, Spencer Draws, Tyler Jones and Rob Dau had base hits for the Falcons. Dau hit an RBI double and Jones also added a double. Bradley Haslam also had an RBI. Nic Ready and Jacob Booker scored runs for AFA.
Starting pitcher Jacob DeVries (3-4) allowed two runs in 4.1 innings. The junior lefthander struck out three. Nic Biancalana pitched 3.2 innings in relief.
UNLV (14-18, 4-9) had eight hits. Leadoff hitter Kyle Isbel had three hits to lead the Rebels. Kenny Oakley (4-3) pitched eight innings, striking out nine for the win.
UNLV scored the first runs in the fourth and fifth innings. The five-run seventh made it a 7-0 game.
Air Force scored in the eighth on an RBI groundout by Haslam that scored Booker. The Falcons plated their run in the ninth on a double by Dau, scoring Ready.
The series finale is tomorrow. First pitch is 1 pm PT.
