Air Force Downed 6-3 Saturday at Fresno State

Air Force baseball dropped a 6-3 contest at Fresno State Saturday night at Beiden Field in Fresno, Calif. The Falcons dropped to 13-7, 4-3 MW.
The Falcons were unable to hold a 3-2 lead, as Fresno State (19-8, 8-3) scored four runs in the eighth inning for the come-from-behind win.
Fresno State's Jimmy Lambert improved to 6-0 with eight innings pitched in the start. Dylan Lee pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
Air Force reliever Nathan Stanford (0-1) took the loss. Starting pitcher Griffin Jax pitched 6.1 innings, striking out eight. Jax allowed his first run in the fourth inning, snapping his streak of not allowing an earned run in 24.1 innings. Austin McDaniel closed out the eighth inning in relief.
The Falcons had six hits on the day. Designated hitter Bradley Haslam and left fielder Tyler Jones had two hits each. Leadoff hitter Adam Groesbeck hit his first home run of the season.
Fresno State scored a run in the fourth to lead early. The Falcons tied it up with a run in the fifth on a Fresno State error. Groesbeck put the Falcons up with a solo homer and Tyler Jones doubled-in Haslam to make it a 3-1 game in the sixth.
Fresno State rallied with the four runs in the eighth. The Bulldogs had seven hits on the day. First baseman Aaron Arruda went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
The three-game series finale is tomorrow. First pitch is 1 pm PT.
