Senior midfielder Christopher Allen and goalkeeper Doug Gouchoe will be representing the Falcons on the North team at the 75th annual USILA/Nike North-South Senior All-Star game at the Edith Robb Dixon Field on the campus of Cabrini College in Radnor, Pa., on Friday, May 27. The Division I-II game is slated for faceoff at 5:30 p.m. ET.
The North-South Senior All-Star Game is an annual postseason college lacrosse game featuring the best Division I and II players from the graduating class. The inaugural event occurred in 1940 at Municipal Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. Since then, it has been played yearly with the exception of 1944 and 1945 due to World War II.
The Southern Conference Defensive Player of the Year, Gouchoe has helped lead the Falcons to a 15-2 overall record with a perfect mark in league action this season. He made a career high 19 saves in the four-overtime win over Marist, Feb. 20. He also played a significant role in a pair of Air Force wins over Dartmouth and Sacred Heart as he made 18 saves in the two games. Gouchoe was invaluable in the upset against then-No.9 Duke as he logged 17 saves against the third-best scoring offense in the nation.
The Concord, Mass. native furthered his goalkeeping merits by earning the SoCon tournament's Most Outstanding Player Award. He was added to the All-SoCon First Team and the SoCon All-Tournament team. In all games this season, Gouchoe leads the SoCon in goals against average (7.47), a mark good enough for fifth in the nation. The senior goalkeeper holds the Academy record for most wins (15) and was dubbed SoCon Defensive Player of the Month for February and March. He earned SoCon Defensive Player of the Week honors on four occasions.
Team captain Allen logged 31 goals in 16 of 18 games this season. He scored his 12th career hat trick against Jacksonville on April 30; his fourth hat trick in seven league games. He was named to the All-SoCon First Team and the SoCon's All-Tournament team. He was dubbed the SoCon Offensive Player of the Week twice this season.
The Hillsborough, N.J., native logged his 100th career point against Richmond, Apr. 23, and concluded his career with 106 total points, eighth most in program history. Allen netted his 87th career goal against Notre Dame, May 14, a mark that high enough for third most in the program's modern era.
Tickets can be purchased at the game.
