Ready Garners NCBWA Freshman All-America Honors

Nic Ready of Air Force was named to the 2016 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Freshman All-American Team. Ready, a 2016 Mountain West co-Freshman of the Year, earned first team honors as a designated hitter.
Ready had a standout freshman campaign for Air Force, batting .329 with six home runs and 53 RBIs. His 77 hits is an Air Force freshman record and his 234 at bats is an Air Force record for a season. Ready ranked fourth on the team with 44 runs scored and was third with 17 doubles. The Dallas, Texas, native was also a All-Mountain West Second Team selection.
This is Ready's second Freshman All-America honor, as he was also named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American team by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper.
Ready is one of three Falcons to earn All-America honors this season, joining junior RHP Griffin Jax (Louisville Slugger Second Team) and junior outfielder Tyler Jones (Louisville Slugger Third Team). Ready is Air Force's first freshman All-American since Jones in 2014.
Air Force finished the 2016 season with a 30-27 record for its first winning season since 1995. The 30 wins is second all-time at the Academy.
