Items featuring a Mountain retreat in the woods, American Airlines first class tickets to anywhere in the world, Army away football trip, Air Force Academy paintings, away trip to Air Force's game against New Mexico in the Cotton Bowl, golf packages, a live painting, as well as exclusive experiences with football coach Troy Calhoun, men's basketball coach Dave Pilipovich and hockey coach Frank Serratore and much more.
About 300 Air Force supporters were on hand, including 21 sponsor tables with leaders from around the community. The department capped the evening by unveiling the Air Power Legacy Series football uniform for 2016. The helmet exploded on social media and ESPN College GameDay has already dubbed it the best helmet of 2016!
"This was a tremendous night for our inaugural event," Air Force Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton said. "I couldn't be more excited about the buzz this event has created and how important it will be moving forward in our department to provide transformational support to our programs. We have great teammates in our community and it was fantastic to partner with them in such a meaningful way."
"Our inaugural Night of Excellence event more than exceeded our expectations," Dr. Nancy Hixson, chief executive officer of the Air Force Academy Athletic Corporation, said. "The support shown by our donor community in raising $160,000 was fantastic. We are already looking forward to next year."
