The Air Force silver team defeated the blue, 4-3, Thursday afternoon in the annual Blue-Silver match at the Air Force Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Junior Max Olson, sophomore Isaac Perez and freshman David Mottice won singles matches to pace the silver team. Mottice and Austin Gula combined to win at doubles, 7-6 (6) while Olson and freshman Matthew Ghering also picked up a doubles win for the silver to clinch the doubles point.
"This scrimmage is so good for our players to get into a match environment early in the season," Air Force head coach Dan Oosterhous said. "It certainly had the feel of a regular season match, every court had lots of pressure situations. Freshman David Mottice came through big in both doubles and singles, getting the deciding win in each. We're really excited to get started in two weeks at West Point."
The Falcons open the season Sept. 16-18 at the Army West Point Invitational in West Point, N.Y.
