UTEP and UNLV tie for Falcon Invitational team title

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo - UNLV and UTEP each shot a one-under 863 to tie for the team championship at the 48th annual Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational Golf Tournament, Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Academy's Eisenhower Blue Course. UNLV shot a four-under 284 on the final day to force the tie with the Miners. Colorado was third with a one-over 865.
The Air Force Silver team placed seventh with an 898 while the Air Force Blue team was 11th with a 911.
UNLV's John Oda was the top individual, shooting a 10-under 206 as he carded a 70-67-60 during the 54-hole tournament. UTEP's Andreas Sorenson was second with a seven-under 209. Air Force's top individual was Todd Millard who tied for 14th with a three-over 219, carding a 73-70-76.
Air Force returns to action at the annual CSU Ram Masters, Sept. 19-20, in Fort Collins, Colo.
