
Air Force Announces 2016-17 Track and Field Schedule

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – The Air Force track and field team's schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season was recently announced by head coach Ralph Lindeman. The Falcons will host four indoor competitions at the Cadet Field House and one outdoor meet at the Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex.

The Falcons open the season in December, with the annual Air Force Holiday Open (Dec. 9) and continue their home schedule in the new year with the Air Force Invitational (Jan. 19-21), the Air Force Team Challenge (Feb. 3) and the Air Force Collegiate Open (Feb. 17). During the outdoor season, Air Force will host its annual Twilight Open to conclude the regular season on May 5.
Air Force will also compete at Colorado's Potts Invitational (Jan. 14) and New Mexico's Collegiate Invitational (Jan. 28) during the indoor season, while the team will split for Arkansas' Tyson Invitational, Washington's Husky Classic and Adams State's Last Qualifier over the Feb. 10-11 weekend.
The 2017 Mountain West Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held Feb. 23-25 in Albuquerque, N.M., while the NCAA Indoor Championships will take place in College Station, Texas, on March 10-11.
Air Force opens the outdoor season at Arizona State's Baldy Castillo Invitational on March 17-18, before returning to Colorado for the Jerry Quiller Classic on March 24-25.The Falcons will send squads to the San Francisco State Distance Carnival and Stanford Invitational over the March 31-April 1 weekend, while also splitting the team for the Colorado Invitational in Boulder and the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational at UCLA on April 7-8. The squad returns to California on April 12-15 for the Combined Events at Azusa-Pacific, the Mt. SAC Relays at Cerritos College and Beach Invitational at Long Beach State. The team splits again on April 21-22 for Baylor's Michael Johnson Invitational and Colorado State's Jack Christiansen Invitational, before heading to the prestigious Drake Relays on April 27-29.
The MW Outdoor Championships will be held May 10-13 in Logan, Utah, while the NCAA Outdoor Championships begin with the preliminary rounds in Austin, Texas, on May 25-27, and conclude with the finals in Eugene, Ore., on June 7-10.
