The Air Force golf team will travel to Goodyear, Ariz., for the sixth annual Loyola Intercollegiate, Saturday-Monday, Feb. 25-27, at the Palm Valley Golf Club in Goodyear, Ariz.. Teams will play 18 holes each day in the three-day, 54-hole tournament. The tournament is hosted by Loyola Maryland. Teams will begin teeing off at 7:45 am MT each day. LAST YEAR AT LOYOLA INTERCOLLEGIATE
Air Force tied for 14th at the Loyola Intercollegiate last season at the Palm Valley Golf Club. Air Force and host school, Loyola Maryland, each shot a three-round total of 884 (+20). Michael Fan (graduated) was the Falcons' highest individual, tying for 41st with a three-over par 219. Brenden Bone shot a 221, Turner Howe shot 223, Sunwoo Choi shot 225 and Tate Tatom shot 226.
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
In the first tournament of the spring, the Air Force golf team finished in 10th place at the Pizza Hut Pat Hicks Invitational, Feb. 13-14, in St. George, Utah. Air Force shot a final round 303 to finish with a final team score of 598 (+22). Utah Valley won the tournament with a two-round total of 560 (-16). Utah State was second (569), followed by Long Beach State in third (574). Senior Brenden Bone and junior Dane Hankamer tied for 26th, each shooting a three-over par 147. Freshman Austin Kuznik shot a one-under 71 in the final round and placed 38th in the tournament with a two-round total of 150. Freshman Joseph Crisostomo, competing as an individual, placed 18th overall with a two-round total of 144 (even). He fired a 68 in the first round and a 76 in the second.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
Seniors Sunwoo Choi and Brenden Bone are leading the Falcons this season, both having a top-five finish in a fall tournament. Choi leads the team with a 72.87 stroke average while Bone has a 73.71. Freshman Joseph Crisostomo is third with a stroke average of 75.25.
