Air Force splits Friday matches with loss to Denver

Denver beat Air Force, 5-2, Friday evening in a non-conference men's tennis match at the Cadet Gymnasium Indoor Tennis Courts at the Academy. The loss drops the Falcons to 1-1 on the day, as the team beat Metro State, 6-1, earlier in the day.
Denver won the doubles point with wins at the top two spots. The Pioneers won four of six singles matches to secure the victory. Air Force's two wins came at No. 4-5 singles. Isaac Perez beat Jesse Ruder-Hook, 7-5, 7-6 (6) at No. 4 while Mack Galvin defeated Pedro Fernandez, 3-6, 6-3, 1-0, at No. 5. The victory keeps Galvin undefeated this spring with a 10-0 record.
Air Force falls to 4-6 on the season. The team hosts two more matches on Saturday. The Falcons host Northern Arizona at Noon and Seattle at 5 p.m.
