Air Force falls to service academy rival Navy

Navy defeated Air Force, 4-1, Saturday afternoon in a non-conference men's tennis match in Fort Worth, Texas. The victory closed a 0-2 weekend for Air Force in Texas, as the team fell to Texas-Arlington, 7-0, Friday.
Navy won the doubles point. Gabriel Pilones and Zach Jennings beat Max Olson and Luke Sanderson, 6-1, at No. 2 doubles. The Falcons evened it up with a 6-3 win at No. 3 behind Lucas Fumagalli and Mack Galvin over Aries Wong and Andrey Majkic. Thomas Pecor and Greg Durham secured the doubles point for Navy with a 6-4 win at No. 1 over Tadhg Collins and Isaac Perez.
The Midshipmen won three of the four of the singles matches that finished. Air Force's lone win came from Perez at No. 4 with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 win over Pilones. Fumagalli was leading his match at No. 2 3-1 in the third when Navy clinched the match. Sanderson was in a third set at No. 3 singles when play was stopped.
The loss dropped the Falcons to 6-10 overall this season. Air Force is idle next week and opens conference play Friday, March 31, at Nevada.
