COLORADO SPRINGS Colo. - Air Force senior outfielder Adam Groesbeck earned Mountain West Baseball Player of the Week honors for games played during the week of April 3-9, announced today by the conference office. This is Groesbeck's second-career weekly honor.
The Turlock, Calif., native batted .688 over the weekend in a three-game series vs. UNLV, racking up 11 hits in 16 at bats. He hit five doubles, homered and scored and drove in seven runs each. In Friday's 23-9 win, Groesbeck went 6-for-7 at the plate with four doubles, four runs and four RBIs. His four doubles tied a school and Mountain West record and his six hits tied for the second-most in a game at Air Force.
Air Force has collected MW weekly honors for the second-straight week, as junior RHP Nick Biancalana earned MW Pitcher of the Week honors last week. Groesbeck share's this week's conference honors with Matt Brown of San Jose State, who earned MW Pitcher of the Week.
Air Force returns to action tomorrow at Northern Colorado.
