
MIller named to World Junior coaching staff

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force director of hockey Steve Miller has been selected to be an assistant coach with the U.S. National Junior Team for the second straight year and will help lead Team USA at the 2018 International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championships in Buffalo, N.Y., Dec. 26, 2017-Jan. 5, 2018.
This past December, Miller helped lead Team USA to a gold medal at the 2017 World Juniors in Montreal, Canada. Miller was an assistant coach on the team that went undefeated in the tournament, going a perfect 7-0. The entire coaching staff from last year returns, aiming to lead the United States to back-to-back gold medal finishes for the first time ever.
Miller just completed his second season with the Air Force hockey team, helping lead the Falcons to the 2017 AHC Championship and the NCAA Elite Eight. He came to the Academy after one season as the associate head coach at Providence where he helped lead the Friars to the 2015 NCAA Championship. Miller spent 20 seasons as an assistant and associate head coach at the University of Denver, helping lead the Pioneers to back-to-back NCAA Championships in 2004 and 2005.
