
Track and Field to Host Air Force Twilight Open

Meet Notes 15: Air Force Twilight Open ![]()
The Air Force track and field team will conclude the regular season later this week when it hosts its lone home meet of the outdoor season – the Air Force Twilight Open – on Friday, May 5. The meet, which will serve as the Falcons' final tune-up before the conference championships, will be held at the Academy's Cadet Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
MEET INFORMATION
The Air Force Twilight Open, the Falcons' final home meet of the year, is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. (a complete schedule of events is listed below). The hammer throw will take place on the Upper Field, while all other events will be held within the main venue. Admission is free. Live results will be available via GoAirForceFalcons.com (a direct link will be posted to the schedule page by Friday), while Air Force highlights will be posted to the team's official Twitter page (@af_trackfield).
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
1:30 p.m.: Women's Javelin Throw, followed by Men's Javelin Throw; 1:30 p.m.: Men's Discus Throw, Women's Discus Throw, Men's Shot Put, Women's Shot Put; 1:30 p.m.: Women's Long Jump, Men's Long Jump, Women's Triple Jump, Men's Triple Jump; 2:30 p.m.: Men's High Jump, Women's High Jump; 2:30 p.m.: Women's Pole Vault, Men's Pole Vault; 3:30 p.m.: 4x100-Meter Relay, 1500-Meter Run, 100-/110-Meter Hurdles, 400-Meter Dash, 100-Meter Dash, 800-Meter Run, 400-Meter Hurdles, 200-Meter Dash, 3000-Meter Run, 4x400-Meter Relay (women will compete first in all running events); 4:00 p.m.: Men's Hammer Throw, Women's Hammer Throw
MEN CLAIM TOP-20 RANKING IN DUAL MEET STANDINGS
The Air Force men finished the regular season ranked 18th in the Track and Field News' Dual Meet Rankings. The Falcons were one of just six teams outside of a Power 5 conference to earn a spot in the top-25.
WHAT'S ON DECK
The championship portion of the Falcons' outdoor season begins next week, when Air Force travels to Logan, Utah, for the 2017 Mountain West Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The four-day event, which will be held at the Ralph Maughan Track Stadium, is slated to begin on Wednesday, May 10, with the opening events of the decathlon and heptathlon.
