CLOVIS, Calif. – With two conference champions, one Air Force Record, and the women's highest team finish in program history (fifth), the track and field team wrapped up competition at the 2026 Credit Union 1 Mountain West Champions this evening (May 16) in Clovis, California.
With a new Championship Meet Record, senior Texas Tanner successfully captured this third-straight Mountain West title in the discus throw. Tanner, the just the second conference thrower to win the discus title three times in as many years – and the first since 2005-07, broke his own meet record during each of his first two attempts, before finishing with a throw of 65.61 meters (215'3").
At the same time, across the Veterans Memorial Stadium complex, sophomore Morgan Glaser captured her first Mountain West title in the high jump. Clearing 1.82 meters (5'11½") on her second attempt, Glaser became the third member of the women's team to earn an outdoor conference high jump title.
Tanner led the Falcons to a 1-2 finish in the discus, as well as three scoring finishes. Sophomore Evan Keefe recorded a launch of 58.91 meters (193'3") – the third-best throw in Air Force history – to place second in the meet, while senior Massimo Grisotto posted a monster PR of 55.74 meters (182'1") to finish seventh in the even and vault up to No. 7 all-time at Air Force. The high jump also received multiple scoring finishes this afternoon, as freshman Zoe Heizer cleared 1.66 meters (5'5¼") to tie for fifth.
Dropping a 2:03.14 to finish second in the 800-meter run, junior Liliane Aittama took 0.78 seconds off a program record that Air Force Athletics' Hall of Famer Gail Conway had held since 1984. That finish also reset the Service Academy Record that Conway had maintained for the past 42 years and marked the Falcons' first medal in the outdoor 800-meter run since 2013.
Sophomore Asher Jenkins made three trips to the award podium on Saturday, while the men's sprint squad accounted for five medalist finishes.
