U.S. Air Force Academy - Air Force concluded its final exhibition of the season with a 1-1 draw against third-ranked University of Denver, Saturday afternoon, at Cadet Soccer Stadium. The draw marks the second tie in exhibition play between the teams in the last two years.
"I was happy that we got the first goal," said head coach Doug Hill. "But now need to be good enough to win by a one goal margin."
Senior team captain and linchpin defender, Trey Pujats, plugged in the Falcons only goal of the game.
"It was a great back and forth game," continued Hill. "Denver capitalized on a play and ended up with a tie so need to tighten up our defense a bit. Some guys had good performances and now were looking to take those good performances into Friday's game."
The Falcons open their regular season slate with a home game against Missouri State, Friday, Aug. 25, at 5:00 p.m. MT, at Cadet Soccer Stadium.
