
Air Force With Overtime Win at Nevada

Air Force women's soccer (5-4-1, 2-0-1 MW) defeated Nevada (2-10-0, 0-3-0 MW), 2-1, in overtime Friday night at Mackay Stadium. Junior Bre Robertson scored the game-winning goal in the 93rd minute to keep the Falcons undefeated in conference play.
Air Force scored five minutes into the match to take an early lead. Senior Brooke Rittmann scored at the 5:07 mark with an assist by junior Kaitlyn Cook.
Nevada tied the match up in the 66th minute. Rachel Gensch scored for the Wolf Pack at the 65:37.
Robertson scored the game-winner for the Falcons on a header at the 92:57 mark. Junior Taylor Cobb assisted on the score.
The Falcons held a 15-10 advantage in shots and 5-3 in corner kicks. Air Force was very efficient on its shots as 13 of its 15 attempts were on goal. Rittmann and Robertson led the Falcons with three shot attempts each.
The Falcons played their third consecutive overtime match. It is the most since playing four consecutive overtime matches in 2014. After starting the season 0-3, Air Force is now 5-1-1 over its last seven matches.
Air Force returns to action Sunday, Oct. 1, at UNLV.
