
Falcons travel to California for three games

Air Force to face No. 9 UC Davis in WWPA game on Oct. 19
THIS WEEK: Air Force (6-11, 2-2 WWPA) travels to California for three games in three days. The road trip begins with a conference game against No. 9 UC Davis, Friday, Oct. 19 at noon PT in Davis, Calif. Air Force will then compete in the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 21, in Santa Clara. The Falcons will face No. 20 Wagner at 10:40 am and then No. 17 Bucknell at 4:00 pm.

SERIES RECORDS: UC Davis holds a 41-38 lead in the series. The Aggies defeated the Falcons, 13-12, at the MPSF Tournament earlier this season. Air Force's last win over UC Davis came in 2012. The Aggies have won 11 straight over the Falcons. Bucknell leads the overall series with the Falcons, 7-6. The teams last met in 2016, a Bucknell win. Bucknell has won two straight in the series. Air Force's last win came in 2012. This will be the first meeting ever with Wagner.
LAST WEEK: Air Force split a pair of games at the MPSF Tournament in Palo Alto, Calif., Oct. 12-14. After falling to No. 3 USC and No. 8 UC Davis, the Falcons rallied for a pair of wins. The 16-team tournament featured 11 of the top 12 teams in the nation. Air Force defeated 15th-ranked Pomona Pitzer, 14-11. After a Pomona goal in the fourth quarter, the Sagehens had an 11-9 lead. The Falcons scored five straight. Back-to-back goals by Harrison tied the game at 11-11. Andres scored the next two and then Jason Hires added an insurance goal late. The next day, Andres scored a career high six goals to lead Air Force to a 15-14 win over Santa Clara. Senior team captain Ryan Dorris netted the game-winner with 37 seconds left in the fourth. Smet scored five goals in the game.
