Men's Swim & Dive Opens 2018-19 Season at Intermountain Shootout

The Falcons will battle host Colorado Mesa and BYU in double-dual format
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The Air Force Academy men's swimming and diving team opens its 2018-19 regular season when it heads to the west side of the state for the ninth annual Intermountain Shootout, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 5-6, hosted by Colorado Mesa in Grand Junction, Colo.
Action will commence at CMU's El Pomar Natatorium at 5 p.m. Friday and resumes at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. The two-day meet will pit the Blue and Silver against the host Mavericks as well as BYU. Team scores will be kept in a double-dual format and a total of 19 swimming events will be contested. Divers will also be competing concurrently with the swimming events on both the 1 and 3-meter boards.

At last season's Intermountain Shootout, the Falcons went 2-0 over host CMU (305-85) and BYU (228-165). This will be the ninth-straight season Air Force opens its season in Grand Junction, as they have attended each of the last eight Shootouts.
Air Force is coming off a 2017-18 season which saw it finish in fourth place at the 2018 WAC Championships. The Falcons will sport a young squad in 2018-19, as the team features no seniors, while welcoming in a 14-man freshman class.
