Women's Swim & Dive Set to Begin 2018-19 Campaign in California

The Falcons will begin the year at the Fresno State Chick-fil-a Invite
FRESNO, Calif. – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team opens its 2018-19 regular season when it heads to California for the Chick-fil-a Invitational, hosted by Fresno State University, Friday-Saturday, Oct. 5-6.
The action at Fresno State's Aquatics Center will begin at noon on Friday and resumes at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The two-day meet will pit the Blue and Silver against the host Bulldogs, fellow Mountain West foes San Jose State and San Diego State, as well as the Pac-12's California and Washington State. The Cal Golden Bears are the reigning runners-up at the NCAA Championships.
Scoring will be invitational format for the top 16 scorers. Individual: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11-9-7-6-5-4- 3-2-1. Relays: 40-34-32-30-28-26-24-22-18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2. Only two relay teams per school may score points. The pool will also be setup to run diving concurrently with swimming.

The Falcons are opening their season at Fresno State for the first time since 2013-14, when they took third at what was then known as the Bulldog Invite.
Air Force is coming off a 2017-18 season which saw it finish in ninth place at the 2018 MW Championships, while setting a new school record for team points at the Championships with 572. The Falcons will have a deep squad, with an exciting 16 member freshman class.
