Falcons fall to top-seeded UCSD in WWPA semifinals

Air Force to play Loyola in third-place game on Sunday
FRESNO, Calif. – Top-seeded, and 10th-ranked UC San Diego scored the first five goals of the game en route to a 15-3 win over fifth-seeded Air Force in the semifinals of the Western Water Polo Association game, Saturday, Nov. 17, in Fresno, Calif.
UCSD (18-5 overall this season) took a 5-0 lead before Falcon junior Luke Andres scored on the power play. Andres' second of the game, from Michael Miller, came early in the second quarter to cut the Triton lead to 7-2. Andres scored again at 3:28 of the second quarter, from Reagan Pittman as UCSD held a 9-3 lead.
The Tritons scored three more goals in the second quarter and out-scored Air Force, 3-0, in the second half.
The Falcons (9-17 overall) will play Loyola Marymount in the third-place game on Sunday, Nov. 18, at 11:15 am.
