Three Top 10 Academy Times Highlights Day Two of Phill Hansel Invite

The Falcons had three swimmers clock in with top times in program history
HOUSTON, Texas – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team had a solid day two at the Phill Hansel Invitational, Saturday, Nov. 17, as the Falcons had three swimmers achieve top-10 swims in program history.
As a team, Air Force sits in 10th place with 282 team points. Host Houston remains in the lead with 1,159, while the Falcons are ahead of Incarnate Word and North Texas.
Freshman Caroline Wittich had the highest top-10 time, as she clocked in with a 1:04.15 in the 100 breaststroke, which is good for fifth in Academy history. In her event, she finished fourth in her heat and 20th overall.
The 100 backstroke proved to be Air Force's most successful race of the day, as sophomore Kylie Stronko took sixth overall out of over 60 swimmers, clocking in with a 55.57. Air Force also had a top-10 swim, as junior Autumn Wolfgramm clocked in with 57.07 time in her prelim swim to take ninth on the Academy list.
In the 400 IM, senior Emma Strom was Air Force's top finisher, as she timed in at 20th with a 4:25.14. Meanwhile, junior Heidi Schellin was able to achieve a top-10 program time, as her 4:28.61 is good for eighth all-time at Air Force.
Over on the diving board, the Falcons competed in the 3-meter. Freshman Krystal Irwin took fourth place after a total score of 274.15.
Wolfgramm was also Air Force's top finisher in the 200 freestyle, as she finished at 1:53.07 to take 23rd overall. In the final individual swimming event, junior Esther Min paced the Falcons in the 100 fly with a 57.38, which was good for 28th.
In the relays, the Falcons had a top-10 finish in the 200 medley relay, as they took ninth with a 1:44.07. In the final event of the evening, the 800 free relay, Air Force took 11th after finishing with a 7:41.20.
The Falcons conclude action at the Phill Hansel Invite tomorrow, Nov. 18. There will be seven events in contention, starting with prelims at 9 a.m. MT, and the finals coming at 2 p.m. MT.
