11/3/2018 2:24:00 PM | Women's Swimming and Diving
The Falcons defeated Grand Canyon for the second straight day
USAFA, Colo. – The Air Force Academy women's swimming and diving team split a pair of duals, defeating Grand Canyon for the second consecutive day, 129-112, while falling to in-state foe Northern Colorado, 125.5-117.5, Saturday afternoon, Nov. 3, at Cadet Natatorium.

Once again, the Falcons' depth was the difference in defeating the Antelopes, as they won just three events, but had top three finishes in 10 of the 13 overall.

Junior Esther Min continued her strong start to the season, as she claimed victory in the 100 fly with a 57.15. Air Force's other swimming win came in the 100 back as sophomore Kylie Stronko took gold with a 58.85.

On the diving board, the Falcon's had a 1-2 finish in the 3-meter, as freshman Krystal Irwin nabbed first place with a 261.56, while junior Eve Fowler took second with a 253.80.

During the first intermission, the Falcons honored their seven-member senior class. Those recognized were Elisabeth Brechbuhl, Jessica Chen, Bella Farrell, Kathy Lim, Elizabeth Mahoney, Gaby Miller, and Emma Strom.

Air Force now takes a brief interlude from competition before returning for the Phill Hansel Invitational in Houston, Texas. The three day meet hosted by the University of Houston will run from Friday-Sunday, Nov. 16-18.
