Falcons Fall to Cal Poly in San Diego

Air Force had six top two event finishes
SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Air Force Academy men's swimming team wrapped up its California training trip with a dual against Cal Poly Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 19, at the San Diego State University Aquaplex. The Falcons fell to the Mustangs by a final tally of 226-68.
In the 16 event dual, the Falcons had six top two finishes, led by an event win from junior Cole McAnany in the 100 back. McAnany clocked in with a 51.86.
Fellow junior Zach Nelson had three second place finishes on the afternoon, headlined by his signature breast stroke, where he took second in both the 100 and 200. He also had a silver finish in the 200 IM. The other individual second place time came from freshman Aaron Pang in the 100 fly. Finally, the Falcons took second in the opening event of the day in the 200 medley relay.
The Falcons are now done with competition in 2018, as they will return to action Friday-Saturday, Jan. 11-12, when they take on Seattle University and Simon Fraser in Federal Way, Wash.
