
Air Force Drops Doubleheader at Seattle

Air Force baseball (14-19) dropped both games of a doubleheader at Seattle (20-10) Tuesday afternoon at Bannerwood Park in Bellevue, Wash. The Falcons lost game one, 4-1, and game two, 11-5.
In game one, Seattle jumped out to a 3-0 lead and held off the Falcons.
Air Force had eight hits in the game and scored its run in the fifth inning of the seven inning game. Colby Brown went 2 for 3 at the plate. Daniel Jones had a hit and sac fly RBI, scoring Tyler Zabojnik.
Ethan Nichols (0-1) pitched two innings in the start. Jake Gilbert and Josh Leaser pitched in relief.
Seattle had eight hits. Jack Reisinger hit a home run for the Redhawks. Starter Tyler Yeh (3-4) pitched four innings. Jake Prizina picked up the save.
Seattle scored a run in the second and two in the third. After the Falcons scored in the fifth, the Redhawks added a run in the sixth.
In game two, Seattle scored three runs in the first and five in the second to jump ahead 8-1. The Falcons was forced to play catch-up the rest of the way.
The Redhawks had 14 hits. Curtis Perrin and Sean Sutton hit home runs.
Nathan Bonck (1-0) picked up the win in relief. Starter Jarrod Billig pitched 1.2 innings.
Air Force had eight hits. Drew Wiss homered and drove in two runs. Jacob Booker hit two doubles and Rob Dau had two hits.
Jeff Gerlica (0-2) took the loss in his first-career start. Joe Kincart, Shawn Kelley, Luke Chilcutt, John Byrnes and Ryan Holloway pitched in relief.
After Seattle took the 8-1 lead, the Falcons scored two in the third and one in the fourth to make it a 8-4 game. The Redhawks scored three in the fifth and the Falcons scored one in the seventh.
Air Force and Seattle were originally slated to play one game today and one tomorrow, but due to inclement weather forecast Wednesday, the teams decided to play two today.
Air Force returns to action Friday at UNLV.
