The Falcons will compete at the Spartan-Demon Deacons Classic over the Aug. 24-25 weekend.
The Air Force volleyball team kicks off the 2018 season this weekend, as it travels to North Carolina for the Spartan-Demon Deacon Classic. The two-day tournament, co-hosted by UNC Greensboro and Wake Forest, begins for the Falcons on Friday, Aug. 24, when they face UNCG at 6:00 p.m. (ET) in Greensboro.

Aug 24: Air Force at UNC Greensboro (Greensboro) – 6:00 p.m.

FALCONS PICKED EIGHTH IN PRESEASON POLL
Air Force tied for eighth in the annual Mountain West Preseason Coaches' Poll, tallying 31 points to share that spot with Utah State. The No. 8 ranking, marking just the fourth time in 20 years that Air Force hasn't been picked last in the conference, is the Falcons' second-highest preseason placement in program history (seventh in 2015), while the 31 points are tied with the 2014 squad as the second-largest preseason point total in program history (41 in 2015).
ON THE SIDELINES
Air Force's 2018 squad is under the direction of third-year coach Marc Swindle, who became the program's first Division I head coach to collect a double-digit win total in their debut season and is 24-39 after two years. Swindle will be joined on the sideline by fourth-year associate head coach Keith Barnett, third-year assistant coach Elysse Richardson and first-year volunteer Kim Haas.
WHAT'S ON DECK
Air Force travels to Arlington, Texas, next weekend (Aug. 31-Sept. 1) to face Loyola, UT Arlington and Binghamton at the Maverick Classic.
