DID YOU KNOW?
Of the team's first 13 non-conference opponents, the Falcons only faced four teams (UT Arlington, McNeese State, CSU Bakersfield, Samford) prior to this season and were 2-2 against those programs at the DI level.
HISTORY 101
Air Force is 0-1 against Friday's opponents, as it has never faced Maryland Eastern Shore and dropped a neutral site contest to Samford in 2003. Air Force is 12-2 all-time against Navy and holds a 3-1 record at home, while this weekend marks the first time since 2012-13 that the two academies have played each other in back-to-back years.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
All three of this weekend's opponents are also competing at the Denver Invitational and will travel down to the Academy during breaks in their respective schedules. Maryland Eastern Shore, which is currently 3-6 on the season after claiming three-straight victories at the Henson's Hawk Invitational, will have two matches before facing the Falcons on Friday afternoon. Samford, which improved to 4-6 on the year after posting a 2-1 record at the Ohio Invitational, will face Alabama on Tuesday before traveling to Colorado. Navy, coming off of a 2-1 weekend at the Rutgers Invitational, is currently 6-4 on the year and will have two matches at DU before traveling to Air Force.
HOME SWEET HOME
Air Force went 4-1 during its first homestand of the season (Sept. 3-8), including a 3-1 mark at the Amy Svoboda Memorial Classic. The Falcons have won nine of their last 10 matches at Cadet East Gym – a stretch dating back to October 2017.
WHAT'S ON DECK
Air Force continues its 11-match homestand next Sunday (Sept. 23), when it opens Mountain West play against San Diego State.
