
Falcons jump out early in 12-7 win over CLU

Freshman goalie Anthony Tolbert made career-high 14 saves
U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force scored the first seven goals of the game and defeated Cal Lutheran, 12-7, in a non-conference college water polo game, Sunday, Sept. 23, in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
Air Force scored four goals in the first as Campbell Harris scored twice and Justin Harrison and Luke Andres each scored once. Mike Miller scored two goals and Harrison netted his second of the game for a 7-0 lead in the second quarter. CLU scored two goals late in the second quarter as the Falcons had an 8-2 lead at the half.
Cal Lutheran scored the only goal of the third quarter as the Falcons held an 8-3 lead entering the final quarter. Harris' third of the game gave the Falcons a 9-3 advantage. Miller, Edward Smet and Kazu Gavin all scored in the fourth for a 12-7 victory.

Miller and Harris each had three goals for the Falcons while Harrison and Andres each had two. Reagan Pittman led the team with three assists. Ian Shepherd and Andres each had two helpers.
Air Force (3-8 overall, 1-1 WWPA) returns home for a conference game against UC San Diego, Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Cadet Natatorium. Air Force's next two games will be at home as the Falcons will host WWPA rival Santa Clara, Saturday, Oct. 6, at 11 a.m.
