Falcons host UC San Diego in WWPA tilt

THIS WEEK: Air Force (3-8, 1-1 WWPA)  hosts eighth-ranked UC San Diego (8-2, 1-0 WWPA), Friday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at the Cadet Natatorium. 
SERIES RECORDS: Air Force and UC San Diego will meet for the 85th time in the history of the series and the Tritons hold a 68-16 lead in the series that began in 1975. UC San Diego has won five straight in the series, including a 16-8 win earlier this season at the Triton Tournament. Air Force's last win the series came in 2015, a 10-5 victory.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS: UC San Diego is 8-2 overall this season and ranked eighth in the nation. The Tritons are 1-0 in the WWPA after a 14-3 win over Fresno Pacific on Sept. 22. Connor Turnbow-Lindenstadt leads the league with 33 goals and 51 points.
LAST WEEK: Campbell Harris scored six goals in two games last week as the Falcons split a pair in southern California. After a 15-8 conference loss at Loyola Marymount, the Falcons bounced back for a 12-7 win over Cal Lutheran in non-conference action. Harris scored three goals in each game to tie his career high. Mike Miller had three goals and four assists in the two games. Freshman goalie Anthony Tolbert started the CLU game, making a career high 14 saves and earning his first career win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Luke Andres leads the Falcons with 22 goals this season , having scored a goal in 10 of the 11 games. He also leads the team with 27 points. Andres ranks fourth in the league in goals. Reagan Pittman leads the team with 14 assists and is second with 21 points. Mike Miller leads the team, and ranks third in the WWPA, with 14 steals. James Burke ranks second in the conference with 67 saves.
