Falcons travel to Princeton Invite; Face Navy

THIS WEEK: Air Force makes a rare trip to the east coast for the Princeton Tournament, Sept. 8-9, in Princeton, N.J. Air Force will face service academy rival Navy on Saturday, Sept. 8, at 8:45 am ET. Later that day, the Falcons will face the defending national champions, top-ranked UCLA, at 5:30 pm ET. On Sunday, Sept. 9, Air Force will face No. 13 Princeton (7:30 am ET) and No. 17 Brown (3:00 pm ET).
SERIES RECORDS: Air Force and Navy will met for the 32nd time in the history of the series and the Mids hold a 21-10 advantage. However, Air Force has beaten Navy each of the last two seasons, 8-6 in 2016 and 10-7 last season. Both games were played in California. UCLA holds a 23-0 lead in the series against Air Force. UCLA was 21-4 last season and won their 11th national title in school history. The teams have not played since 2011. Air Force and Princeton will play for the 10th time and the Tigers hold a 5-4 advantage. The teams last played in 2016 and Air Force won, 11-10. Air Force and Brown will play for the 23rd time and Brown holds a 12-10 lead in the series. The teams last played in 2015 when the Bears defeated the Falcons, 10-8.
LAST WEEK: Air Force was 1-3 last week at the Triton Invitational. After falling to No. 3 Cal (16-5), the Falcons defeated Concordia, 8-7. On day two, the Falcons fell to UC San Diego (16-8) and Loyola Marymount (12-5). In the tournament, senior Justin Harrison and junior Luke Andres each had five goals. Reagan Pittman led the team with three assists. Sophomore goalie James Burke had 32 saves in the tournament.
