The Falcons seek their sixth team title at the 25th edition of the event

THIS WEEK: The Air Force Academy wrestling team heads east for the 25th Annual All Academy Championships, Saturday, Jan. 26, hosted by Norwich University in Northfield, Vt. The Falcons will face off against the seven other military academies in tournament action beginning at 8 a.m. MT.

LAST TIME OUT: Air Force dropped a pair of road Big 12 Conference duals to two ranked teams, as they fell to No. 12 Wyoming, 33-3, and No. 15 Northern Iowa 29-9, last weekend.
The lone win against the Cowboys came at 141 lbs., as junior Garrett O'Shea won by decision, 4-1.
Against the Panthers, Air Force got decision wins from freshman heavyweight Kayne Hutchison, sophomore 133 pounder Tony DeCesare, and senior 157 pounder, Alex Mossing.
LAST SEASON AT ALL ACADEMIES: Then-junior 197 pounder Anthony McLaughlin won his weight class title, going a perfect 3-0. Overall, the Falcons had eight of its nine wrestlers finish within the top three, including two with runner-up finishes in Tony DeCesare at 125 lbs. and Alex Mossing at 157 lbs.
ALL ACADEMY HISTORY: Saturday will be the 25th time the All-Academy Championship has been contested, and is the first time Norwich University will host. Air Force has won five team titles (1999, 2000, '01, '02, and 2015). Navy has won the most titles with 14, while Army has won four and VMI one.
THE FIELD: The field of eight includes the Falcons, as well as Army West Point, Navy, Merchant Marine, Coast Guard, Virginia Military Institute, The Citadel, and the host, Norwich.
THREE FALCONS IN COACHES PANEL: The first of four NCAA Coaches Panel rankings were released Thursday, Jan. 24, and there were three Air Force grapplers within the top-33 of their respective weight classes. Freshman Sidney Flores is 30th at 125 lbs, senior Alex Mossing is 29th at 157 lbs., and senior Anthony McLaughlin is 30th at 197 lbs. The Coaches Panel is one of the tools used as part of the selection process to determine qualifiers and seeding for the 2019 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.
NEXT UP: The Falcons are back on the road for a pair of duals after a week off, starting with a Big 12 showdown against conference leader Oklahoma State, Friday, Feb. 8. Start time against the Cowboys is set for 7 p.m. Then AF heads to the Golden State to take on non-conference foe Cal Poly, Sunday, Feb. 10, starting at 1 p.m. MT.
