Air Force Men’s Tennis Completes Day One At Idaho State Invite

Air Force men's tennis completed day one action at the 2019 Idaho State Fall Invitational on Friday at Reed Gym in Pocatello, Idaho and Capell Park in Chubbuck, Idaho. In doubles competition, the Falcons had six wins on the day, with a group making the quarterfinals.
The duo or Jordan Azuma and Denali Kitayama posted back-to-back wins to start the day, making it to the quarterfinals. The duo defeated Stoner/Wood of Montana State 6-2 in its opening match and then defeated Van Wyk/Schoor of Weber State 6-2. Azuma and Kitayama were eliminated from the bracket in the semifinals, falling to Pudney/Hallgren of Montana 6-4.
All three doubles groups for the Falcons made it to the round of 16. Mack Galvin and Morgan Ihrig won their opener, taking down Prinsen (ISU)/Li (WSU) 6-1 to advance.
The freshmen duo of Jonathan Mascagni and Justin Waldman earned a pair of wins on the day. After a bye in the round of 32 and a setback in the round of 16, the duo earned wins in the back draw over Montana State opponents Zelver/Moneiro 6-2 and Stoner/Wood 6-2.
Galvin and Ihrig also earned a back draw win over Yount/Halgren of Montana 6-2.
Day two of tournament action resumes tomorrow with singles play.
