
Denise Ssozi Named Mountain West Honorable Mention

Ssozi is the ninth different Falcon to earn a post-season nod from the conference.
USAF ACADEMY, Colo. – Air Force senior volleyball player Denise Ssozi was named Honorable Mention All-Mountain West this morning (Nov. 27), as the conference announced its end-of-season awards. The full list of awards, which include all-conference, honorable mention and four specialty awards, were decided by the conference's 11 head coaches.
During the league's 18-match conference season, Ssozi was ranked among the Mountain West leaders in kills (seventh, 3.21 kps) and points (10th, 3.50 kps). She led the Falcons in kills during half of the conference matches, while tallying at least 20 kills in two contests. She also led the team in hitting during two MW matches and paced the team in digs during two other contests. In addition, during the conference season, she became the seventh Air Force player to register at least 1000 kills (against Wyoming) and set the program's Division I record for career-doubles (30, against San Diego State).
Ssozi is the ninth different Falcon to earn a post-season nod from the conference, joining Akokwe Clement (all-MW 2014, all-MW 2015), Delavane Diaz (all-MW 2003), Piper Heineck (all-MW 2017), Summer Koons (all-MW 1999), Abigail Miksch (HM 2018), Taylor Parker (HM 2014), Elizabeth Pennington (all-MW 2018) and Shelley Spires (HM 2015).
