Falcons Return Home to Host San Jose State, Nevada

Air Force will host the Spartans (Nov. 7) and Wolfpack (Nov. 9) at Cadet East Gym.
After spending the last two weekends on the road, the Air Force volleyball team returns to the Academy this week for a pair of conference matches. The Falcons will host San Jose State on Thursday, Nov. 7, before welcoming Nevada to Cadet East Gym on Saturday, Nov. 9.

SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
San Jose State, which is currently 3-9 in the conference and 8-15 overall, will host Nevada on Tuesday before traveling to the Academy. The Spartans split a pair of home contests last week, as they dropped a three-set contest to Boise State on Oct. 31 and easily swept Utah State on Nov. 2. San Jose State currently leads the Mountain West in digs during conference contests, as it averages 14.95 per set. Individually, Sarah Smevog holds the No. 2 ranking in the Mountain West with a 4.68 digs-per-set average, while Fernanda Vido and Marnie Garard are listed among the conference's top 10 in aces (sixth, 0.40) and assists (eighth, 6.59), respectively.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
Nevada, who will travel to San Jose on Tuesday, is currently even at 6-6 in the Mountain West and holds a 16-8 overall record. The Wolfpack went 2-0 at home last weekend, sweeping Utah State on Oct. 31 and defeating Boise State in four on Nov. 2. Nevada is ranked second in the conference in both assists (12.53) and digs (14.56) during MW matches, while also holding top-five marks in kills (fourth, 12.89) and service aces (fifth, 1.51). Individually, Dalyn Burns (second in assists, 11.05), Mandalay Rennon (third in aces, 0.48), Sydney Pearson (third in blocks, 1.35), and Kayla Afoa (fourth in kills, 3.61) are ranked among the league's top five.
