Wrestling Heads East for the Mountaineer Invitational

The Falcons will see some top teams in its final tune up before duals begin
BOONE, N.C. – The Air Force Academy wrestling team heads east this Saturday, Nov. 9, for the Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State inside the Varsity Gym. There will be both an Invitational and Open bracket, with wrestling on seven mats beginning at 9 a.m. ET.
FloWrestling will be on site to provide live video (log-in required) and live results (free) in the FloSports online Arena.
Tickets for the Mountaineer Invitational are $7 (adult) and $3 (youth). They can be purchased at the entrance on the Rivers Street side of Varsity Gym or online at the link above.
Along with App State and Air Force, other teams traveling to Boone for the Mountaineer Invitational are Oregon State, West Virginia, Duke, Kent State, Central Michigan, and Gardner-Webb.
Wrestlers from Virginia, Campbell, Chattanooga and Presbyterian are also registered for the Open tournament.
Air Force last competed at the Cowboy Open, Saturday, Nov. 2 up in Laramie, Wyo. The Falcons had nine wrestlers place within the top three of their weight class, including two weight class champions in Sidney Flores at 125 lbs. and Randy Meneweather at 165 lbs.
This marks the final tune up before the dual season begins next weekend as Air Force will welcome in Big Conference rival Wyoming into Clune Arena. Action against the Cowboys begins at 7 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 16.
