Air Force Downed By Nevada, 100-85

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's basketball dropped a 100-85 contest to Nevada in Mountain West action Saturday afternoon at Clune Arena. Lavelle Scottie led Air Force with 23 points for the Falcons, who dropped to 4-6, 1-1 MW.
The Falcons rallied back from a 16 point deficit, only to see Nevada rally back late. The Wolf Pack took a 53-42 lead at halftime by shooting 60 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from three-point in the opening half.
Air Force managed to come back and tie the game up 64-64 with 11:01 to go on the heels of a 12-2 run. The game was knotted up at 68-68 before Nevada went on a 13-0 run to go up 81-68 with 7:37 to play.
Four Falcons reached double figures in scoring. In addition to his season-high 23 points, Scottie led the Falcons with eight rebounds and went 12 of 15 at the free throw line. Sophomore AJ Walker scored a career-high 21 points, making four three's and adding five rebounds.
Caleb Morris scored 12 points and Ryan Swan added 11. Keaton Van Soelen scored nine points and Sid Tomes gave the Falcons nine points off the bench, including 7 of 8 from the free throw line.
Jalen Harris paced five players for Nevada in doubles figures with 31 points. The Wolf Pack shot 56.6 percent from the field and were 13 of 23 from three-point range for a 56.5 percentage.
The game was a physical affair, featuring 49 fouls and 66 combined free throw attempts. Air Force made nine three's on the day, losing for the first time this season when making at least nine three's.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Dec. 14 at Denver. Tip time is 1 pm MT.
