Men’s Tennis Edged by Abilene Christian

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis was edged 4-3 by Abilene Christian Friday night at the Indoor Tennis Courts in the Cadet Gym. The Falcons dropped to 5-4 on the season.

The Falcons and Wildcats were even in singles at 3-3, but ACU took two of three in doubles to secure the winning point.

Air Force took losses at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Tadhg Collins and Patrick Sklenka fell at No. 1 singles to Josh Sheehy/Riley Tran 6-4 and Isaac Perez and Robert Baylon fell at No. 2 doubles to Jon Sheehy/Cole Lawson 6-2. The duo of Paul Hendrix and Jamie Bautista won at No. 3 doubles over Sebastian Langdon/Jackson Fine 6-2.

In singles, the Sheehy brothers won at No. 1 and No. 2. Josh Sheehy downed Sklenka 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (5) at No. 1 and Jon downed Luke Sanderson 2-6, 6-0, 7-6 (5) at No. 2.

Paul Hendrix earned the win at No. 3 singles over Tran 7-6 (4), 6-3. Dimitris Azoides defeated Robert Baylon at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-1.

The Falcons won at No. 5 and No. 6, as Collins downed Sebastian Delgado at No. 5 singles 6-4, 6-3 and James Scotty won at No. 6 over Langdon 6-2, 6-1.

The Falcons return to action Sunday, Feb. 10, hosting Montana.
