Air Force Opens Action at NCBA Western Regional

Lawrence Barrett opened action with a victory at 125 pounds.
LOS ANGELES – Backed by a victory from freshman Lawrence Barrett, the Air Force boxing team kicked off action at the National Collegiate Boxing Association (NCBA) Western Regional Championships this evening (March 14) in Los Angeles. With just one contender on Thursday, Air Force is 1-0 in the regional.
Barrett opened the Falcons' postseason with a victory in the 125-pound quarterfinal, as he earned the judges' decision over Gabriel Baltazar of regional host UCLA in his first regional meet.
The freshman and his Academy teammates return to action tomorrow (March 15) for the semifinal round of action at the NCBA Western Regional.
