Falcons Travel to MW Women’s Tennis Championships

The Air Force women's tennis participates the 2019 Mountain West Women's Tennis Championships, held April 24-27 and hosted by San Diego State at the Aztec Tennis Center in San Diego, Calif. As the second-seed, the Falcons received an opening-round bye and begins competition on Thursday, April 25.
The Falcons will take on the winner of the #7-seed Utah State vs. #10-seed Boise State match. The match is slated for 2 pm PT Thursday. The Falcons defeated Utah State 4-0 and Boise State 5-2 earlier this season.
Nationally Ranked: Junior TJ Fumagalli and freshman Kristin Kerrigan enter the weekend ranked #73 in doubles in the latest ITA Top doubles rankings. The duo is 30-7 on the season and 12-3 in duals competition.
Mountain West Mountain Division Co-Champions: With its 4-1 record in Mountain West competition, Air Force shared the MW Mountain Division title with New Mexico. It is the first MW Championship by a women's program in Air Force history.
School Record Wins: Air Force's 21-2 record is the winningest (.913) in progam history. Its 21 wins is the most in the Div. I era.
Fumagalli & Kerrigan earn All-MW Honors: Junior TJ Fumagalli earned All-MW honors in singles. Fumagalli and Kerrigan earned All-MW Doubles honors. Fumagalli became the first player in program history to earn All-MW in both singles and doubles three times.
Last Year at MW Championship: Air Force was eliminated from the 2018 MW Championships with a 4-3 loss to Utah State in a matchup of the 7 vs. 10 seeds. The seventh-seeded Falcons were unable to hold a 3-2 lead as the Aggies rallied with wins at No. 2 and No. 1 singles. The 2018 MW Championships were held at Boise State.
