U.S. Air Force Academy - The 2018 Air Force men's soccer team welcomed home its second-straight Western Athletic Conference regular season championship rings, during alumni weekend, at the Air Force Academy.
The 2018 Air Force men's soccer team concluded its historic 17-win season in the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament, November 25. Doug Hill's Falcons shattered a number of Academy records in the campaign, setting the bar for the most wins by any soccer team in Academy history as well as a new record for the most home wins as Air Force concluded the season with a perfect 10-0 record on the home pitch. The Falcons attained their highest ranking of the season at No. 7, the third-highest national ranking in the history of the program.
Tucker Bone, a 2018 MAC Hermann Trophy semi-finalist, and Andrea Seazzu were crowned the WAC's Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively, while the squad saw program-high 11 players added to All-WAC teams --three to the first-team, one to the second-team, six honorable mentions and one on the All-Freshmen team.
"The 2018 team received their rings during alumni weekend, celebrating one of the best seasons in program history," said head coach Doug Hill. "I could not be more proud of this group, especially during this special time at the Air Force Academy as 10 seniors prepare to graduate on Thursday."
"I know they will go out and do great things for us in our Air Force just like they did on the pitch!" said Hill. "I'm excited to see this talented and accomplished group of men earn their commission as second lieutenants, and I am confident in their abilities to lead airmen and serve our great nation."
The senior class of 2019, who have had a share in both of the program's league titles, will begin their graduation ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, at Falcon Stadium.
