
Men’s Tennis Celebrates 2018-19 Season at Annual Awards Banquet

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Air Force men's tennis celebrated the 2018-19 season at its annual awards banquet Thursday evening. Sophomore Patrick Sklenka was named the team's Most Valuable Player, while junior Mack Galvin has been named the team's captain for next season.
The Falcons concluded the year with an 12-13 record, including an 8-3 mark at home. The 12 wins was the most team wins since 2014. Highlights of the season include a 4-2 win over Army West Point in the program's first-ever nationally televised match at the USTA National Campus. The Falcons hung tough in conference play, getting edged out of a win by one point three times. The Falcons had one of its biggest wins in conference play, defeating UNLV for the first time since 2003.
Sklenka earned MVP honors by posting 17 singles wins on the season, which included 10 dual wins at No. 1 singles. Sklenka earned All-MW singles honors. In addition, Sklenka teamed with senior Tadhg Collins to earn All-MW doubles honors as well. Collins and Sklenka earned 13 wins as a duo, including a stellar 5-2 mark in conference duals at No. 1 doubles.
