Former Falcon Westmoreland qualifies for Utah Championship

.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. – Kyle Westmoreland, a 2014 Academy graduate and former standout on the golf team, qualified to compete in the Utah Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour, held at the Oakridge Country Club, June 27-30, in Farmington, Utah. The Korn Ferry Tour is the developmental tour for the PGA Tour and features golfers who are attempting to qualify for the PGA Tour.

Westmoreland shot a bogey-free 64 in Monday's qualifier at TalonsCove Golf Club and will compete in the third Korn Ferry Tour event in his career. He is set to begin his first round at 2:10 pm MT on Thursday, June 27, as part of the 156-man field.

Westmoreland is one of the most decorated Air Force Academy golfers in school history. A native of Katy, Texas, he earned all-region honors as a senior and competed in the NCAA Regionals twice. As a senior, he placed fourth at the Mountain West Championships, the highest finish for an Air Force golfer since 1985, and was named the Academy's most valuable male athlete.
